A free street party celebrating Louisiana music and crawfish, Pinch A Palooza runs from 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. and features six bands and a full afternoon of activities. Admission is free.
This year Pinch A Palooza will take fest-goers back to traditional Southern and New Orleans roots with a lineup that includes Cajun fiddler and hometown sweetheart Amanda Shaw, Louisiana Music Hall of Famer Vince Vance and The Valiants, New Orleans Karma, Cajun Zydeco band Chansons et Soûlards, Jackson, Miss.-based bluegrass duo Bill & Temperance, plus performances by Mardi Gras Indians krewe Big Chief Romeo & the Ninth Ward Hunters and the 610 Stompers.
Known as New Orleans’ go-to place for boiled crawfish, Deanie’s introduced Pinch A Palooza to New Orleans in 2010, and it has become the fastest-growing festival in the region, drawing more than 3,000 locals to Deanie’s original restaurant location.
