Winter time in this region means milder weather, Mardi Gras, and of course some of the best Louisiana seafood the gulf has to offer!  Eating local seafood in season means you’ll enjoy it at the peak of freshness.

Louisiana is the largest commercial fishery in the contiguous United States. If you’re lucky enough to live in Louisiana, you’re in close proximity to seasonal gulf fish like black drum and yellowfin tuna, as well as the best oysters and shrimp in the world.

Seventy-five percent of the U.S. commercial sea catch comes from estuaries, and 37 percent of the estuary marshes in the contiguous United States are in Louilouisiana blue crab and shrimp louisiana seafood seasons whats in season.jpgsiana.
