Crawfish Eating Contests for Kids & Adults, Cowboy Mouth Headlines
Deanie’s presents a full day of free live music, activities and fun during its annual crawfish extravaganza, Pinch A Palooza Festival & Crawfish Eating Contest 2018 from noon to 8 p.m., Sun., April 22 at Deanie’s in Bucktown. The lineup features rock covers by local favorites The Top Cats; rock, soul & funk with Bucktown All-Stars; classic rock by Roux the Day, New Orleans originals from Louisiana Hall of Fame Inductee Vince Vance & The Valiants; Cowboy Mouth and more! Pinch A Palooza 2018 will be emceed by New Orleans artist, comedian and host Johnny Rock and feature a performance by the all-male dance krewe the 610 Stompers, who appear on the Pinch A Palooza stage for the 7th consecutive year.
For the second year, Pinch A Palooza will present the Pinch A Palooza Junior Crawfish Eating, open to kids ages 6 to 12. The winning contestant wins a Lil’ Bit Crawfish Boil Set and a year of Free Kids Meals (maximum 2 meals per month for 12 months, dine in only). Note: Kids register the day of event; Junior contest starts at 1 p.m.
The Zagat-rated Deanie’s Seafood will crown the champion of the Pinch A Palooza Crawfish Eating Contest following two heats of competitors and a championship round. Each competitor receives a Pinch A Palooza T-shirt and a Deanie’s koozie.The Pinch A Palooza champion wins a Deanie’s Seafood crawfish boil for 20 people, and other great prizes will be awarded.
The annual crawfish celebration features a variety of Deanie’s crawfish specialties like crawfish etouffee, crawfish balls and fried crawfish tails, and, of course, more than 5,000 lbs. of the best boiled crawfish in New Orleans!
