With one of the first days of beautiful sunshine in almost two weeks, more than 5,000 attendees flocked to the festival grounds with their families, friends and even their dogs to enjoy a day of Louisiana crawfish, music and culture.
Three locally known foodies will participate in this year’s Pinch A Palooza Crawfish Eating Contest
Deanie’s Seafood is excited to welcome three New Orleans food aficionados and avid eaters of Louisiana fare to this year’s Crawfish Eating Contest! They will compete against the other contestants in an attempt to make it to the final round and earn the title of the 2015 Pinch A Palooza Crawfish Eating Champion, plus a complimentary crawfish boil for 20 people.

More than just your typical crawfish boil: compete to be the Crawfish Eating Champion and race live crawfish!
In South Louisiana, crawfish are more than just something to eat. They are a reason for people to gather together when the weather starts to warm up and indulge in their favorite traditions built around the mudbugs. Louisianians anticipate the start of crawfish season all year and when it’s finally time to eat them, people travel to their favorite local restaurants and seafood markets to buy them already prepared or buy sacks of live crawfish to boil in their backyards with friends and family.

In addition to more than 2,500 pounds of boiled Louisiana crawfish prepared with our signature Creole seasonings and other Deanie’s crawfish specialties including our Crawfish Nachos, Crawfish Balls and Fried Crawfish Tails, The New Orleans Center for Creative Arts (NOCCA) Institute's Boxcar food truck (@BoxcarNOLA) will serve dishes inspired by seasonal produce from the Institute’s Press Street Gardens.

METAIRIE, LA. —(March 18, 2015)—On Sun., April 19, Deanie’s Seafood Restaurants will present the sixth-annual Pinch A Palooza Festival & Crawfish Eating Contest at Deanie’s Seafood Restaurant & Seafood Market in Bucktown, 1713 Lake Ave., Metairie. A seasonal celebration of Louisiana crawfish, music and culture, Pinch A Palooza runs from 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. and features six bands and a full afternoon of activities. Admission is free.
