At Deanie’s Seafood, we’re proud to serve the freshest and best seafood in New Orleans, and posting photos of Louisiana seafood is something that we enjoy. On Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, it’s been fun to to see viewers’ reactions and interactions with our posts and pictures over the last several years. Some of our favorite fan photos have even gone viral, reaching tens of thousands of people!

Louisiana is in the middle of oyster season! Of over 150 varieties of oysters harvested and sold in North America, 70% of oysters produced in the United States are from the Gulf Coast. Gulf oysters are in season year-round, but they are largest between October and April. Oysters are packed with high-quality protein, essential minerals like zinc, iron, and selenium; and contain vitamins such as vitamin C and vitamin B-12. They contain other minerals that help our immune system, and have anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. In a nutshell… oysters are not only delicious during this time of year, but they’re good for you, too!

Deanie’s Seafood serves raw oysters, charbroiled oysters, and fried oysters year round, and recently added New Orleans Barbeque Oysters to the menu at both our French Quarter and Bucktown locations. In fact, our Holiday Take Home Menu has Oyster Dressing and Oyster Patties, plus a variety of Deanie's seafood specialties, along with traditional holiday fixings, fried and smoked turkeys, Smoked Beef Brisket, sides, desserts and more.

We’ve seen so many fantastic pics of our oyster dishes on social media since the beginning of the year. Fans are posting, sharing and liking photos of our raw, fried, and charbroiled oysters.
