Pinch A Palooza Celebrates Crawfish and Music

Features music by Karma, Paris Avenue, Vince Vance &The Valiants and more!

Deanie’s Seafood Restaurant in Bucktown will host the seventh-annual Pinch A Palooza Festival, a free street party celebrating Louisiana music and crawfish, on Sunday April 17 at Deanie’s Seafood Restaurant & Seafood Market in Bucktown!

Celebrating Louisiana Crawfish Month, Pinch A Palooza will feature more than 5,000 lbs. of boiled crawfish, a crawfish-eating contest, an art market, crafts and games for the kids and live music all day long.

New Orleans all-male charitable dance troupe The 610 Stompers plus Mardi Gras Indians deanies_seafood_pinchapalooza_music_lineup_crawfish_season_chansons_et_soulards.jpgBig Chief Romeo Bougere & The Ninth Ward Hunters also will be on hand, along with dance instruction and a performance by the Disco Amigos showing their moves to the beats of New Orleans Karma.

The FREE festival features music and entertainment for all ages!  Here’s a breakdown of the bands you can expect to enjoy this Sunday.

Pinch A Palooza Music Lineup:

BREAKWATER DRIVE

Local band and Bucktown natives Breakwater Drive return to Pinch A Palooza for the 7th year in a row!  They’ll be getting things rolling with covers of classic rock favorites starting at 11 a.m. on the Main Stage.

CHANSON ET SOŬLARD “THE WANDERING CAJUN”

Chanson Et Soȗlard “The Wandering Cajun” perform Cajun dance hall music that’s meant to be enjoyed with a chaser of laughter, dancing, or tears.  If you like to enjoy your musical outlets to the sounds of the accordian, fiddle and old French lyrics, you’ll love this band.  Chanson Et Soȗlard kicks off the fais do do on the Main Stage at 12:20 p.m.

SHOT TIME

LaPlace band Shot Time performs your favorite dance, classic rock, country, soul, blues, pop and swamp pop hits.  Shot Time’s members come from musical families, so their love for music started at a young age. Bring your dancing shoes, because Shot Time was created to party!  They’re scheduled for 1:55 pm on the Main Stage.

PARIS AVENUE

A local band making huge strides in the New Orleans music scene, Paris Avenue is a band on the rise. Made up of four local high school friends, Paris Avenue has been entertaining audiences with their young energetic punk rock/pop punk sound covering songs from bands such as Blink 182, Green Day, Third Eye Blind, Weezer, and Lit.  Paris Avenue hits the Main Stage at 3:30 p.m.

IMAGINARY FRENZ

Imaginary Frenz has been entertaining audiences with multiple styles – rock, funk, soul, country and ballads, and more, for more than 15 years. Imaginary Frenz began as a high energy acoustic act that eventually expanded its energy into a full band, entertaining audiences with multiple styles.  The band performs on the Main Stage at 5:05 p.m.

VINCE VANCE & THE VALIANTS

Louisiana Music Hall of Famer, composer, pianist and entertainer Vince Vance and his band The Valiants have thrilled audiences of all ages all over the world with their unforgettable brand of music and comedy.  Performing on the Pinch A Palooza stage for the fourth year, Vince & The Valiants and the talented Valianettes have entertained audiences with their high-energy musical revue for the past 45 years.  The band’s set starts at 6:40 p.m. on the Main Stage.

NEW ORLEANS KARMA

Karma is a group of exceptionally talented New Orleans musicians that will have you up on your feet and dancing with a special guest performance by the Disco Amigos!  Karma features a unique blend of songs, performing a diverse songbook featuring Sinatra, Fats Domino, Journey, 80’s Rock, as well as Usher and the Top 40 hits of today.  Karma will close out the night on the Main Stage beginning at 8:15 p.m.
