Mississippi Rail Company, Shamarr Allen & the Underdawgs close series Oct. 30
METAIRIE, LA.--Oct. 4--It's time for the food and music extravaganza known as Bucktober Wednesdays at Deanie's Seafood restaurant in Bucktown, 1713 Lake Ave., from 6-8 p.m., with free live music and a menu full of our famous seafood specials every Wednesday in October. Bucktober Wednesdays features an all local lineup, and proceeds benefit Lake Pontchartrain Basin Foundation.
New Orleans' favorite party band, Vince Vance & The Valiants, open the series Oct. 9, followed by Mia Borders on Oct. 16, The Scott Schmidt Band on Oct. 23, and a closing concert featuring a double-header, R&B quartet Mississippi Rail Company and Shamarr Allen and the Underdawgs on Oct. 30.
One of New Orleans' favorite seafood restaurants, Deanie’s in Bucktown will serve up drink specials plus charbroiled oysters alongside the restaurant’s full menu for this entertaining series of dining and dancing alfresco.

OCT. 9 Vince Vance & the Valiants (@VinceVance) with Louisiana legend, composer, pianist and entertainer Vince Vance, this high-energy musical revue has thrilled audiences of all ages from Coast to Coast with their unforgettable brand of music and comedy.
OCT. 16 Mia Borders(@MiaBorders) New Orleans native and singer/songwriter, Borders' music has captivated local and national audiences with her energetic blend of blues, soul, funk and contemporary songwriting. Her second full-length album, "Magnolia Blue,” earned her a nomination for Best Emerging Artist at the Big Easy Music Awards, as well as a nationally broadcast performance at N.O. Jazz Fest 2010.
OCT. 23 Scott Schmidt Band, led by accomplished New Orleans singer/songwriter Scott Schmidt (currently lead singer of The Boogie Men), plays a mix of original music and classic rock and soul covers. Schmidt has a new CD, "Timepiece," offering 11 rock & soul originals full of energy and emotion.
OCT. 30 (Rain date) Mississippi Rail Company (@MissRailCo) A New Orleans band featuring a soulful, bluesy blend of upright bass, tenor saxophone, keyboard and drums, Mississippi Rail Company released their first full-length album “Coal Black Train” in 2012. Their music embraces New Orleans roots music, rock, folk, and blues traditions.
OCT. 30 Shamarr Allen and the Underdawgs (@ShamarrAllen) Shamarr Allen is a native New Orleanian, entertainer, producer, trumpeter and cultural ambassador. Allen and the Underdawgs perform all original music blending jazz, funk, hip-hop, rock and a little pop, including songs from their upcoming album “True Orleans.”
